Boarding House Parent

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school with approximately 670 students.  The school is committed to personal excellence with a strong emphasis on pastoral care.  We have built an enviable reputation for outstanding academic, cultural and sporting performance and achievement.

Reporting to the Dean of Boarding, we are looking for an energetic and caring person to work in the friendly family environment of our Boarding establishment.  Nurturing our girls and helping them to reach their full potential is the key focus of this role.  

Key responsibilities for this role include ensuring students are cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually.  This role oversees the day-to-day operation of the boarding house, ensuring the girls’ boarding experience is positive and conducive to their learning and development.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive harmonious relationships with girls and families. Previous experience in a school or boarding facility would be highly desirable. Commitment to the school’s special character is essential.

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Head Chef to join our Catering team. Our catering team caters for 145 boarders, various school functions and external events. We have an onsite food truck which provides espresso daily and is used for off-site weddings, corporate functions which is operated under our separate catering brand, MR GOODFELLOW. We make ALMOST everything in our kitchen from scratch, no MAGGI bouillons here!

Reporting to the Catering Manager, the successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

● You are a focused and powerful team player
● Have a real PASSION for food
● A get stuff done, enthusiastic attitude is essential
● Outstanding time and staff management
● Creative and open minded
● Exceptional technical cooking skills
● A minimum of 4 years in a similar role

Canteen Assistant - MR GOODFELLOW

We are looking for an energetic and reliable Canteen Assistant to join our Catering team. Our catering team caters for 145 boarders, various school functions and external events. We have an onsite food truck which provides espresso daily and is used for off-site weddings, corporate functions which is operated under our separate catering brand, MR GOODFELLOW. We make ALMOST everything in our kitchen from scratch, no MAGGI bouillons here!

We are looking for someone to work from 10:30am - 1:30pm, Monday to Friday, we can also be flexible with days if we have a couple of people to fill the shifts.

You would be required to assist in the school canteen for morning tea and lunch working alongside one of our full time team members. 

This role is term time only.

You must be eligible to work in NZ, pass NZ Police vetting and be vaccinated against Covid 19.
