Founded in 1909, Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school for girls in Years 9-13, with a roll of approximately 680 students. Assistant House Parent

Permanent, Full-Time, Residential Position

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is an integrated Anglican day and boarding school with approximately 670 students.  The school is committed to personal excellence with a strong emphasis on pastoral care.  We have built an enviable reputation for outstanding academic, cultural and sporting performance and achievement.

Reporting to the Dean of Boarding, we are looking for an energetic and caring Assistant House Parent to work in the friendly family environment of our Boarding establishment.  

Nurturing our students and helping them to reach their full potential is the key focus of this role.  The Assistant House Parent is also required to provide support to staff and students, and facilitate day to day activities in the Boarding House, ensuring the boarding experience is positive and fulfilling for students and their families. 

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive harmonious relationships with students and their families. Previous experience in a school or boarding facility would be highly desirable.

This is a full-time, permanent role. It is approximately 35 hours per week (Sunday to Friday), plus rostered overnight shifts and weekends (2 – 3 weekends per term). Term-time only.  On-site accommodation is provided.

Boarding Homework/Preparation Tutor

Waikato Diocesan School is an integrated girls’ school with approximately 670 students. We have built an enviable reputation for outstanding academic, cultural and sporting performance and achievement. We are looking for an energetic, caring person to work in the friendly family environment of our Boarding establishment. We need someone to supervise and assist our year 9 and 10 students with homework and exam preparation. This includes tutoring small groups of students, communicating with the Day School via House Parents or the Dean of Boarding.

We need someone that will be a good role model for the students and actively support the special character of Waikato Diocesan School for Girls. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous. Relevant knowledge of specific subject areas and/ or an understanding of NZQA assessment process is required.

The position is 1.5 hours a day from 6:30 pm until 8.00 pm, Monday to Thursday inclusive. It is term time only.

Experienced Barista Required

MR GOODFELLOW

We are looking for a reliable, energetic and experienced barista who is capable of providing exceptional customer service and producing an EXCELLENT cup of coffee at SPEED.

You must have the following attributes:

* 2 years experience in a fast-paced barista setting.
* Be able to provide references to back up your experience.
* Friendly and outgoing personality
* Ambition & commitment to the role
* Can work well under pressure

The Barista works out of our funky food trailer; we use “FLIGHT” coffee roasters from Auckland who have a strong focus on organic style coffee.

This is predominantly a Monday-Friday role with daytime shifts. Approx. 30-35 hours per week between 7am and 3pm. You will be working as part of a team that LOVES all things hospitality.

Catering Assistant

Mr Goodfellow

We are seeking an energetic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our Catering Team. Our catering team caters for 145 boarders, various school functions and external events. We have an onsite food truck which provides espresso daily and is used for off-site weddings, corporate functions which is operated under our separate catering brand, MR GOODFELLOW. We make ALMOST everything in our kitchen from scratch, no MAGGI bouillons here!

The successful person would work between Monday and Sunday, term time only.
•Monday - Friday, 5pm - 8pm or 9pm
•Saturday, 4pm - 7pm
•Sunday, 10:30am - 1pm and / or 3pm - 7pm

We cater for 145 boarding students and also do external catering which requires some flexibility with working hours.

Main duties are to assist the chefs, look after the students in the dining hall and dishwashing duties.

Ideally we would like someone who has worked in the hospitality industry before but it is not essential.

You must be eligible to work in NZ and pass NZ Police vetting.
