In many cases, international students come to New Zealand to improve their English. Others may come here for family reasons or to complete qualifications to gain entry into a university. International students choose homestay accommodation to help learn English faster and for the family environment. For many students, this may be their first time away from home, in another country and responsible for themselves. It may take the student a while to settle in as they adjust to a new family, culture and school. Please see the Homestay Information and Application Booklet below for a complete outline of Homestay family responsibilities. If you would like to apply to become a Homestay family, please complete the form at the back of this booklet and return to: Kym Plaisted Homestay Co-ordinator Waikato Diocesan School for Girls Private Bag 3051 Hamilton 3240 or email to: kplaisted@wdsg.school.nz If you have any questions or would like more information about becoming a Homestay family, please contact: Kym Plaisted Homestay Co-ordinator P: 021 811 871 Joanne Monney Dean of International Students P: 027 899 0142 |
