Financial Schedule

Dio is an Anglican school with an excellent academic, sporting and extra-curricular performance record, committed to providing a well-rounded education for its young women. We are grateful for the parental support that enables us to provide the level of education we do. Voluntary donations are essential in order to maintain the standard of education provided at Dio and to support the ongoing development of the site. As a state-integrated school, our land and buildings are owned by the Anglican Church and we are responsible for maintaining and developing the site and its facilities.

The government does not fund decile 10 schools to the same level as lower decile schools, nor does it provide any money towards the maintenance and operation of buildings related to the special character of the school. The expectation is that families in decile 10 schools are able to make up the shortfall through fundraising or voluntary donations.

The Proprietor’s voluntary donations are used to repair and maintain the site and buildings and to support the special character aspects of the school such as the Chapel, Arts, Boarding, and Outdoor Education.

The Board of Trustees' voluntary donations provides extra staffing, equipment and resources to support curriculum delivery, such as smart boards and computers.

All gifts and donations qualify for a tax credit. Families are able to claim back 33 1/3% of the total donation paid as a tax credit (up to a maximum of 33 1/3% of your taxable income). The school sends the account payer a letter at the end of each tax year outlining any donations paid to the school. Further information in relation to claiming a tax credit can be found on the IRD’s website
