Itinerant Music Teacher - Vocal

Permanent, up to 22 hours per week

The Waikato Itinerant Music Scheme (based at Waikato Diocesan School) is seeking a qualified, experienced, highly effective, resilient and inspiring Vocal teacher to commence Term 1 2018. 

Applicants must have:
  • experience and skills in teaching a wide range of vocal styles
  • a good understanding of the Music curriculum for Years 9-13
  • the ability to assist with NCEA performance preparation and assessment
  • knowledge of Trinity and ABRSM examinations.
The ability to direct large vocal ensembles (Barbershop - Young Women in Harmony/Young Men in Harmony and Choral - SATB) and small vocal ensembles (quartets) to a competitive level will be an advantage.

Flexibility within repertoire and a willingness to work with the diverse requirements of a wide range of music departments are expected.

The successful applicant needs to have a current New Zealand teacher registration or Limited Authority to Teach (LAT).
