English Language Learning (ELL) teacher

We have a vacancy for a passionate teacher with strengths in literacy to work with our international students, supporting the development of their English Language proficiency to enable full participation in mainstream classes. The role requires an appropriate qualification and prior experience in teaching English to speakers of other languages.

Reporting to the Dean of International Students, the role also involves working closely with subject teachers, the Head of Learning Support and Deans in order to provide appropriate, differentiated support for each student. A natural empathy for young women who are living away from their home culture is essential.

Chaplain & Head of Religious Education

We seek a School Chaplain to lead the worship and spiritual life of our school. Applications are invited from Anglican priests who are committed to nurturing the Christian faith in the Anglican tradition and helping young women to explore the spiritual dimension of their lives.

The Chaplain works as part of the wider chaplaincy and pastoral teams. Leadership of the Religious Education Department also extends the role into the academic life of the school and teaching qualifications are therefore preferred.

It is anticipated that duties will commence at the beginning of Term 1 2019, or by negotiation.

TIC Japanese

We have a vacancy for a part-time teacher of Japanese (approx. 0.4 FTE teaching load), plus the Teacher in Charge responsibilities for the subject area.

The HOD Languages role may also be a possibility for a candidate with suitable experience.

There is potential for the role to be full-time with the additional responsibility of the pastoral care of our International Students.

Social Sciences teacher

We seek a part-time teacher of Social Studies (and possibly Geography) to commence in 2019. 

Teaching hours are expected to be up to 0.6 FTE but will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Please state all supporting subjects as the position may be fulltime with the right subject combinations.

Media Studies teacher (potentially TIC)

We seek a part-time teacher of Media Studies to commence in 2019. Teaching hours will be approximately 0.5 FTE but will be negotiated with the successful candidate. 

There is potential for the position to be fulltime with the right subject combinations (e.g. Drama, English, Social Studies). Please state all supporting subjects. 

There is also a possibility of taking on the Teacher in Charge responsibilities for the subject area for a candidate with suitable experience. (That role would attract 1MU.)

Food Technology (Teacher in Charge)

We have a maternity leave vacancy for 2019 for a teacher of Food Technology, able to teach to Level 3 NCEA. The role includes TIC responsibility for the subject area within our Technology Department.

Please state supporting subjects. The ability to teach Fashion and Design technology may be an advantage.
