Teacher Aide - Learning & Physical Needs support

We are looking for an energetic, patient and caring person to join our Learning Support team. Reporting to the Head of Learning Support, the key focus of this role is to support students across the curriculum with identified special learning needs, helping them to reach their full potential academically. You will also be required to provide dedicated physical and personal support to identified students. 

The successful applicant will be a positive role model for young women, with the initiative to work without direction and ability to prioritise students' needs. As well as demonstrating a high level of confidentiality in this role, you must have excellent communication skills and be proficient in English - writing, reading and oral. 

Experience and expertise in a similar position is essential for this role. Ideally you will have secondary school experience, particularly in relation to NCEA.

This is a term-time position, requiring 18-20 hours per week, to be worked over five days. Flexibility in hours is required to meet the demands of the role. The position is for a fixed term of up to five years.

Staffroom/Catering Assistant

Our kitchen caters for approximately 160 boarders, staff, a canteen in the day school and various school functions. The school is open seven days a week during term time and sometimes caters for holiday use of the boarding facilities.

We require a Staffroom/Catering Assistant who is a team player with well-developed time management and organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail. An ability to communicate with and relate well to students and staff, along with exceptional customer service, is essential.

Reporting to the Catering Manager, the key requirements for the role include delivering and overseeing staff catering and general cleaning and tidying of the staffroom and staff kitchen. The Staffroom/Catering Assistant will also be required to undertake food preparation, cooking, dining room attendance and other key catering functions from time to time to cover staff absences and catering for functions. 

This is a term time only position. Hours are approximately 18 hours per week, 5 days per week. However flexibility in hours is important as hours may increase up to 40 per week as required.

We are seeking coaches for the 2019 school year. These roles require enthusiastic and highly organised people with previous and proven experience in motivating individuals and teams to achieve success in our sports programmes.

The successful candidates will have coaching experience to give our student/athletes the opportunity to have the best technical skills and physical aptitude to compete at the top level of New Zealand Secondary Schools sport.

The ideal candidates will have a philosophy around coaching secondary school girls which balances a performance-based programme in pursuit of excellence with the interests of the girls at heart. We want coaches who have the ability to engage with the girls, building rapport and trust.  Recognising students' academic demands, long-term development and holistic development are also essential components of these coaching roles.

The successful applicant is required to coach and attend tournaments and games. Therefore flexibility in hours is required and the role may require weekend work. We offer remuneration packages, depending on coaching qualifications and experience, and a supportive environment in which to develop your coaching.
