Assistant Chef

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Assistant Chef to join our Catering team. Our catering team caters for 160 boarders and also for various school functions and events. The dining room is open seven days a week during term time and caters for holiday use of the boarding and school facilities.

Reporting to the Catering Manager, the successful applicant will have well-developed time management and organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.  An ability to communicate with and relate well to students, along with exceptional customer service, is essential.

Key requirements for the role include staff supervision, food preparation, cooking, dining room attendance and other key catering functions.  Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to work full time 11.30 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday. The role is predominantly term time, with the requirement for some hours during term breaks.

This role will ideally commence late January 2020.

Technology Assistant

We are looking for a technologically-savvy team player to provide preparation and technical support to technology staff for practical lessons. You will also be required to manage materials and the operation of equipment.

Reporting to the HOD Technology, the key attributes sought for this role include initiative, strong communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.  The ability to form positive learning relationships with students and staff is essential.

The successful applicant must have a driver's licence and be competent in the use of ICT (e.g. Adobe Suite).  Previous experience working with textile and hard materials is also an advantage.

This is a term-time position for approximately 18 hours per week.

Driver

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and self-motivated person to safely and efficiently transport boarding students to and from extra-curricular activities at various venues throughout Hamilton.  

Reporting to the Dean of Boarding, this role requires an adaptable and organised person with initiative, excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.  The ability to form positive relationships with students and staff is essential.

This is a term-time only position.  Hours will be up to 20 per week, generally worked from approx. 3.15pm to 8.00pm, Monday to Thursday.  However we require flexibility in this role, as hours and days of work will vary from week to week.

The successful applicant must have a current NZ drivers licence.  A current first aid certificate, or the willingness to obtain one, is also highly desirable.

Junior Hockey Coaches

We are seeking coaches for the 2020 school year.  These roles require enthusiastic and highly organised people with previous and proven experience in motivating individuals and teams to achieve success in our sports programmes.

The successful candidates will have coaching experience to give our student/athletes the opportunity to have the best technical skills and physical aptness.

The ideal candidates will have a philosophy around coaching secondary school girls which balances a performance-based programme in pursuit of excellence, with the interests of the girls at heart.  We want coaches who have the ability to engage with the girls, building rapport and trust.  Recognising student’s academic demands, long term development and holistic development are also essential components of these coaching roles.

A successful applicant is required to coach and attend tournaments and games.  Therefore flexibility in hours is required and the role may require weekend work.  We offer remuneration packages, depending on coaching qualifications and experience, and a supportive environment in which to develop your coaching.

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls are seeking an amazing 1st XI Football Head Coach!!
