The swimming team have been busy recently competing at the NZ short course champs and the NZSS Swimming Champs. The girls had some great results over the two events. Their results are below.

New Zealand Short Course Swim Champs


Sarah Miller achieved the following top 3 results in the 13 yr old girls age group

1st 200m Individual Medley

2nd 400m Freestyle

3rd 100m Backstroke

3rd 200m Backstroke

3rd 400m Individual Medley


Grace Soo Choon achieved the following top 3 results in the 14yr old girls age group

1st 200m Butterfly

2nd 100m Butterfly.  

In the 100m Butterfly race Grace also broke the Waikato record.

Sophie Lewis (competing in the 15 years old girls age group)

7th 50m Backstroke

5th 100m Freestyle

5th 50m Freestyle


Madison Chapman (13 years old girls age group)

2nd 100m Freestyle

4th 200m Freestyle

2nd 50m Freestyle

6th 100m Breaststroke

9th 100m Butterfly

5th 200m Butterfly

9th 200m Individual Medley


Grace Soo Choon (14 year old girls age group)

1st 50m Butterfly

8th 100m Backstroke

1st 100m Butterfly

1st 200m Butterfly


Hayley Miller (16-18 year old girls age group)

10th 200m Backstroke


Sophie Lewis, Sarah Miller, Madison Chapman and Grace Soo Choon made up the 15 and under Freestyle relay team and got 3rd place.


Overall, out of all the girls Schools, the Dio girls came third.
