![]() This was followed by the Starling North Island Championships in January which was held in New Plymouth. Julia's best race was a 1st, finishing 6th overall out of 65 sailors (again, 2nd girl). Recently, at the Auckland Championships held at Wakatere Boating Club, she earned a bullet in race 7 to finish top HYC/TYPBC sailor in the fleet of 73 boats. Overall 11th. At the Port of Auckland’s Anniversary Day Regatta, Julia's best race was a 1st, finishing overall in 2nd position (from 40 sailors, 1st girl). These regattas were all held in challenging conditions with shifting winds, tides, waves etc. Compared to the other sailors who are used to sailing in big seas and windy conditions these are fantastic achievements for someone who gets her sailing practice on a calm lake in Hamilton! Great work Julia - keep it up! |
