Netball

Congratulations Ali Wilshier on being named as one of 21 in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Squad.

Central Zone Athletics

Once again our Dio girls did us proud at Central Zone Athletics! We came away with several top three placings as well as a number of athletes gaining a top six place, which was qualification into the upcoming Waikato Bay of Plenty Athletics. 

Tennis

Congratulations to Grace McCartney and Zoë Clapcott, who both played at the Tennis Regional Tournament in Papamoa. Grace played in the U18s and Zoë in the U14s.  Zoë's team, Waikato/Thames Valley (four girls and four boys), won the tournament for U14s.  Zoë played three doubles and three singles matches and won all six.  Grace's team placed 3rd.  Great results girls!

Swimming

Kelly Lewis (Year 9) competed at the NZ Junior Festival-Aquaknights zone meet. This involved swimmers from Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay/Poverty Bay who are 12 years and under.  Kelly came home with three silver medals in the 400 freestyle, 50 butterfly, and 200 freestyle and three bronze medals in 50 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle.
Great result Kelly, well done!

Swimming Sports

We had a wonderful day at our annual School Swimming Sports. The sun was shining, the girls were in good spirits and an enjoyable day was had by all. Well done to all who competed and congratulations to the girls who placed in their finals. See below for a list of Individual results and the House points placings for the day

Juniors
3rd Place - Sarah Wilson 
2nd Place - Charlize Tordoff
1st Place - Kelly Lewis - Kelly also broke a record in the 2 lengths butterfly.

Intermediate 
3rd Place  - Madison Chapman
2nd Place - Sarah Miller
1st Place - Gina McCarthy - who also broke records in each of her events

Senior
3rd = Katie White and Hannah Knighton
2nd Place - Jess Chapman - Jess also broke records in the Breaststroke and Freestyle events
1st Place - Grace Soo Choon - Grace also broke records in each of the three events she entered

House Point Table

Touch Rugby

Congratulations to Tiāna Thompson (Year 12) who won Gold with her Waikato U18 Girls Representative Touch team at a tournament played in Counties Manukau over the weekend. This Team are now the U18 Girls National Touch Champions!
