Read more about it here - Waikato Times - Hamilton netballers selected for New Zealand secondary school squad Central Zone AthleticsOnce again our Dio girls did us proud at Central Zone Athletics! We came away with several top three placings as well as a number of athletes gaining a top six place, which was qualification into the upcoming Waikato Bay of Plenty Athletics. TennisCongratulations to Grace McCartney and Zoë Clapcott, who both played at the Tennis Regional Tournament in Papamoa. Grace played in the U18s and Zoë in the U14s. Zoë's team, Waikato/Thames Valley (four girls and four boys), won the tournament for U14s. Zoë played three doubles and three singles matches and won all six. Grace's team placed 3rd. Great results girls! SwimmingKelly Lewis (Year 9) competed at the NZ Junior Festival-Aquaknights zone meet. This involved swimmers from Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay/Poverty Bay who are 12 years and under. Kelly came home with three silver medals in the 400 freestyle, 50 butterfly, and 200 freestyle and three bronze medals in 50 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle. Great result Kelly, well done! Swimming SportsWe had a wonderful day at our annual School Swimming Sports. The sun was shining, the girls were in good spirits and an enjoyable day was had by all. Well done to all who competed and congratulations to the girls who placed in their finals.
