SHEILAH WINN SHAKESPEARE

The Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival is an annual Shakespeare competition between secondary schools. Schools enter a 15-minute teacher directed scene that can be from any of Shakespeare’s plays.  Schools compete regionally and, if placed first, they then compete in Nationals in Wellington later in the year.

A high level of commitment is required as there are numerous rehearsals in the first term building up to the competition.  There is also the possibility of student directed scenes, where a student can direct a 5-minute scene for the student directed section of the competition.

Note:  If you are involved in the Production you will not be able to be involved in Sheilah Winn as well. This opportunity will only take place if there is enough student interest/commitment and a teacher willing to oversee this.
