Rhapsody in Rotorua - Results

posted 5 Jul 2015, 17:17 by Georgina Hewitt
On the last 3 days of Term 2, 75 students travelled to Rotorua to participate in the Rhapsody in Rotorua music festival.
As part of the festival, each school had adjudicated performances and workshops with top musicians and conductors, and Waikato Diocesan entered 4 groups.

Orchestra = Silver
Jazz Band = Silver
Cantiamo Choir = Silver
Bel Suono Choir = Gold

Well done to all the students involved in these groups and to all your music teachers. Special thanks needs to go to Mrs Maria Colvin, Director of Music, for her work organising Dio to be part of the festival and conducting the Orchestra and the Choirs, and to Mr Clive Burnell for his work with the Jazz Band (who improved from a Bronze award last year).

Also many thanks to Mrs Elsie Kane, Mr Paul Kane, Mrs Angela Smith, Mrs Bridget Greenslade (HOD Music), and Miss Georgina Hewitt (Arts Administrator) for also accompanying the students on the trip and accompanying them in the performances.

More about the festival will be in the next issue of Dio News.
