Cantiamo Choir at the Cathedral Church of St Peter

posted 16 May 2015, 22:10 by Georgina Hewitt

On Sunday 17 May Waikato Diocesan's Cantiamo Choir joined the 9.45am Choral Eucharist service, where The Bishop Helen-Ann Harley was delivering the sermon.

Directed by Mrs Maria Colvin, they lead the congregation in the Hymns and also sung one of their competition pieces "Siya Humba" which is a traditional South African song meaning 'We are walking in the light of God'. During communion the choir also sang "The Lord is my Shepherd" with music written by their accompanist Mrs Angela Smith.

Cantiamo Choir sing at least once a year at the Cathedral Church of St Peter and it is a wonderful opportunity for the community to hear them and also for the students to participate in our wider community.
