Traffic Management Improvements Made

posted 23 Jan 2017, 17:59 by Debbie Stevens
Many of you will be aware that we have recently reviewed traffic management inside our grounds during school hours with a view to improving the safety of pedestrians. This has been prompted by significant safety concerns raised by staff, students, parents and board members. During the Christmas break, we have implemented the traffic safety improvements around the school. Please note the following key points:
  • All student pick-ups and drop-offs should be made at Gate 3 (Martin St). Gate 1 off River Rd is for staff/visitors/deliveries to Cherrington only. We suggest that River Road student drop-offs/pick-ups be made at the bottom of the hill past the Cherrington gate. There is a short path at the bottom of the hill that students can use to access the school grounds.
  • A new designated pick-up and drop-off zone for parents is now in place at Gate 3 (Martin Street) which also incorporates increased visitor parking.  Parents must use the blue-lined drop-off and pick-up zone (marked in the below picture). There is absolutely no stopping permitted on the new dotted yellow line areas.
  • The maximum speed limit on school grounds is 15kph max. Raised pedestrian crossings and speed humps have been introduced as active speed control measures.
Thank you for supporting us in keeping our school campus safe.
