Paid Union Meeting, 12 September

posted 31 Aug 2016, 18:41 by Debbie Stevens
Dear Parents/Caregivers
We have been notified that the Executive of the Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) and the New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI) have directed their members to attend a paid union meeting on Monday 12 September between 9.00 am and 11.00 am. All teachers and support staff who are a member of the PPTA or NZEI are required to attend this meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to inform members of the key proposals in the Government’s Funding Review and to determine a response.

This meeting falls during our Senior Examinations, which will be supervised by teachers who are non-union members. However, we do not have enough teachers who are non-union members to cover all junior classes and therefore junior students will not be required to start school until 12 pm, when they will go directly to their scheduled Period 4 class.
All buses will run at the usual time and students who need to arrive at school at the normal time can work in the library or B block computer room, which will both be supervised by staff.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
