New Zealand Blood Drive

posted 11 Jun 2019, 13:35 by Debbie Stevens
Did you know the New Zealand Blood Service needs to collect 3000 units of blood each and every week?

Waikato Dio would like to help with this and have organised for the New Zealand Blood Service to be on site on the 31st July so that staff and students can donate blood. Prior to this,  New Zealand Blood Service will be at school on the 21st June to inform the girls about donating blood and answer any questions they may have. The girls will then be able to book times to donate blood. Donations will be made  during the school day.

Girls over the age of 16 who weigh at least 50kg are eligible to donate. (There is a final checklist that they will need to meet on the day of donation).

Donating blood is an easy and safe process and we would like to encourage as many girls as possible to consider taking part. However, if as a caregiver you have concerns about your daughter donating blood, please discuss this with your daughter or contact our school nurse
