The Ministry of Education invites Dio families, students and wider networks to the Life after School – Successful Transitions Expo 2015 on the 29th April at the Kingsgate Hotel, Garnett Avenue Hamilton. There will be two sessions, one from 10am-12pm and the other from 7pm-9pm.

This is a joint effort coordinated by Parent to Parent Waikato, CCS Disability Action and the Ministry of Education. It is suitable for all students aged between 14-21 years who are ORS funded, parents, family members, caregivers, education experts, careers advisors, school transition coordinators, teachers and all those involved in the support of a young adult with a disability.

Key note speakers from the following organisations will present an overview of their service in relation to transition and life after school.

- Work and Income
- Ministry of Education
- Ministry of Social Development
- Disability Support Link
- Enabling Good Lives
- Manawanui
- Examples of transition

An event flyer is attached. This is a great opportunity to learn about the supports available after school. There will also be over 20 service providers who will have information tables set up and be available to talk to.
