House Singing 2018 - Important Information

  • Date: Friday 29 June.
  • Time: Programme begins at 6.30pm and ends at approximately 9.15pm.
  • Student Reporting Time: All students must report to their House Leaders by 6.00pm for a full House warm up. Students must enter the arena via Entry 1 and the auditorium via Door C.
  • Venue: Claudelands Arena, Entry 2, Claudelands Events Centre, Corner of Brooklyn Road and Heaphy Terrace, Claudelands, Hamilton. Auditorium entry for the audience will be via Doors B (downstairs), I, and K (upstairs) 
  • Parking: Onsite Parking will be through Gate 4 Brooklyn Road and will cost $5 cash per vehicle. Street parking is free. Please allow time to get through peak hour traffic! Due to the recent wet weather, we are unable to park on the grass at Claudelands
  • Accessibility car parks: There are a number of parks available via Gate 1, Heaphy Terrace, approximately 80m from the Arena Plaza. Accessibility seating is available through Door B.
  • Transport: Boarders will travel by bus to the venue. Parents of day girls are responsible for organising their daughters’ transportation to and from the event. Students must be collected in person from the foyer/concourse area if their ride home is not attending the event.
  • Refreshments: Concession stands will be open to guests from 5.00pm-6.10pm. There are a number of items available including healthier options. Only food purchased on site may be consumed at the venue. Please do not bring commercial food or drink into the venue (ie McDonalds). Bag checks will take place by Claudelands security.
  • Raffle: The School Association will be doing a raffle on the night in the foyer, with proceeds going to Dio’s chosen charity for 2018, Catwalk Trust. Tickets at 3 for $5 and the raffle will be drawn just before the awards are announced. 
  • Seating: Doors will open at approximately 5.50pm. Guests will need to be seated by 6.25pm. Please bring your tickets with you
  • Tickets: Are $28 and can be purchased from the School Shop (8.15am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday) and by phone 07 855 2038 extn 2766
  • Uniform: Girls are to wear normal school winter uniform and observe dress code guidelines as per the student diary.
  • Attendance: A reminder to parents that all students are required to attend House Singing and a roll will be taken on the night. House Singing is a major and much-anticipated event in the school year.
