Give Blood

posted 12 Jun 2018, 19:47 by Debbie Stevens
Did you know the New Zealand Blood Service needs to collect 3000 units of blood each and every week?

Waikato Diocesan want to do our bit and have organised for the New Zealand Blood Service to be on site on Monday 2 July so that staff and students can donate blood. Prior to this,  the New Zealand Blood Service will be at school on the 22 June to educate students about donating blood and answer any questions they may have.  Students will then be able to book times to give blood. Donations will be made during the school day. Girls over the age of 16 who weigh at least 50kg are eligible to donate. (There is a final checklist that they will need to meet on the day of donation).

Donating blood is an easy and safe process and we would like to encourage as many students as possible to consider taking part. If you have any concerns about your daughter donating blood,  please discuss this with her or our school nurse nurse@wdsg.school.nz
