Year 13 Dio Fashion & Design and Design Visual Communication students were this year given the exciting opportunity to work with the Waikato Museum/ Te Whare Taonga O Waikato. Students were invited to produce an avante garde garment or spatial/product design inspired by the 'For Us They Fell'  centenary exhibition.

'For Us They Fell' is a powerful free-entry exhibition about the human stories of the people of the Waikato and World War 1.

Dio Fashion & Design teacher Amy Jansen-Leen says that during the year the students have created a portfolio of work which links into their NCEA achievement standards and NCEA Scholarship.

"The Waikato Museum team acted as their main stakeholder, helping them with informed decision making and product development," she says.

"The student's creative designs demonstrate innovation and good design practice."

The student designs will be on display at Waikato Museum from 26 -30th October, with opening night 26th October at 5.30pm. All are welcome.
