Former Dio Head Girl Jane Anderson (class of 1986) has been appointed Queen’s Counsel.  An appointment to the rank of Queen’s Counsel recognises individuals who have excelled at the highest level of law.  She was one of four women to be appointed in the 2016 round.

Jane is a graduate of Canterbury (LLB Hons) and Oxford Universities (BCL First Class Honours) and was admitted in 1991.  She worked for Auckland firm Rudd Watts and Stone before joining the independent bar in 1998. She has lectured on intellectual property at Auckland University and acted as a part-time assessor for the College of Law.  Jane has been a member of Shortland Chambers in Auckland since 2002.
