About Waikato Diocesan School for Girls
As you enter the gates of Waikato Diocesan School for Girls you are immediately struck by a sense of tradition. This is the key to our success - A hundred years of history, teamed with a forward thinking and innovative approach to education.
Social, moral and spiritual values are central to our sense of community and our special Anglican Character. We believe that for students to achieve their best academically we need to also focus on the spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs of the girls.
Each year, our students take part in an impressive programme of personal development, which offers meaningful experiences in leadership, motivation and responsibility.
House spirit is central to the Waikato Diocesan culture. Our six Houses, named after explorers and pioneers, bring out the seriously competitive streak in some students, while others simply strive to gain points for their Houses by just giving it a go. Whether it is Dio's favourite tradition House Singing, Swimming Sports or Athletics Day - There are always lively supporters on the sidelines, wearing their House colours with pride.
