School Association

The Waikato Diocesan School Association is a team of dedicated and hard-working parents who make the 'Dio Difference' through supporting
school events and running fundraisers. The School Association organise some wonderful fundraisers including Bridge Day, Dio Ladies Night, DioArtX, Dio Day Out - Gardens and Art and Dio Golf Day.

The Association also runs the Dio Stock Scheme which involves our rural families donating calves or grazing for calves for funds.

Dio Bear's are another scheme where the Association make and sell the gorgeous Dio Bears (dressed in junior or senior uniforms) to our graduating classes and special visitors to Dio. 

All this hard work sees the Association raise around $60,000 per year which is donated back to the school for the direct benefit of our students.

The Dio School Association is a very friendly group and is open to any Dio parent/ caregiver to join. We warmly welcome all newcomers and their ideas. Please check the school calendar for meeting dates and times.

Ultimate Raffle Experience 2020 - Waikato Diocesan School Association Fundraiser

The Waikato Diocesan School Association has issued Raffle tickets to Year 11-13 students (on 28 August) for our only fundraiser for the year. It is intended that these girls will sell two tickets each, with money returned to the school reception (Jo Astwood) as soon as they are sold. If they prefer not to sell them please can they return them immediately to the school reception.

We are raising funds for the Funding Application scheme where we can support many groups and individuals who represent the school at regional and national events either as Dio or NZ competitors in music, art, culture, and sport.

$20 Per Ticket

First Prize 

First prize is valued at $4,000. Accommodation at Huka Lodge for two including pre-dinner canapes and gourmet five course set menu dinner and full country breakfast (excludes alcohol). Prize value is $4,000 so there is flexibility on accommodation nights/food depending on the season.

Second Prize
Second prize is valued at $720. Palate restaurant; degustation for 6 people, (excludes alcohol).

Third Prize 
Third prize is valued at $600. Dios' own chef Brad will create an incredible dinner party (excludes alcohol) for 10 people.

We also have additional tickets for sale at the school office. Please contact Jo Astwood on 07 855 2038 for more information on ticket sales. All tickets need to be sold by 22 September 2020.

The  Raffle rules set out the way in which we will organise and run this raffle. There is a licence which we have been granted from Internal Affairs to run this correctly.

On 25 September 2020 we will draw 'The Ultimate Raffle Experience 2020' under Police supervision, and winners will be notified that day.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the prize winners to liaise with the prize businesses and Dio chef when taking a winning prize; including coordinating timings around any possible Covid 19 related matters. School Association Grants 

The 2020 funding round is now open. 

The School Association Inc is offering funds to support Waikato Diocesan School for Girls’ individuals, teams, and groups involved in sporting, cultural, service or academic activities. 

1. Individuals representing Waikato Diocesan School for Girls, or participating in a regional or New Zealand representative team or group are eligible for up to 50 percent of the total cost of travel, gear, accommodation and/or costs for the designated activity, up to a maximum of $350 

2. Teams and Groups: 
• Comprising of 9 or fewer students are eligible for up to 50 percent for the total cost of travel, gear, accommodation and/or costs for the designated activity, up to a maximum of $1,000 
• Comprising of 10 to 29 students are eligible for up to 50 percent for the total cost of travel, gear, accommodation and/or costs for the designated activity, up to a maximum of $2,000 
• Comprising of 30 or more students are eligible for up to 50 percent for the total cost of travel, gear, accommodation and/or costs for the designated activity, up to a maximum of $3,000 

3. Before undertaking the activity, the individual, team or group must apply to the Association by 
completing the Application for Funding form along with supporting documentation including: 
• A budget 
• Plan for funding the balance of costs 
• Two quotes 
• The object of activity or tour itinerary 
An application for funding by an individual, team or group can only be made once every calendar year. 

Applications closes 5:00 pm, Sunday 15 March
Second Application Round closes 5:00 pm, Friday 31 July
